Qatar National Bank - Al Saad

It was around 1.30 PM, time almost to close Banks. I received a call from Qatar National Bank Al Saad Branch to come there. The bank is about 300 meters from my apartment.

The bank was having around 3 staff members when I go there, and a person wearing Qatar national dress was at the counter, having a discussion with Bank officers.

I asked the bank officers whether they asked me to come , mentioning my name.

They said yes. They said but they are sorry now they are facing a serious situation.and they shown me that person around age 25-30.

He pointed a pistol towards me and told me to hands up.

I asked why I should hands up, You are joking. We hands up for sixers in cricket. No body played a sixer here. I said I will not hands up, and I pretended like a school boy who met another guy. I said who brought you this toy gun, I hate playing with guns. I like cricket very much. etc

When I talk pretending his gun is a toy gun, the bank officer intervened saying he is having a real gun. He said I have to come with him. The bank officer told me I should go with him. And he further talked with the bank staff.member. The talk in Arabic seems like "I am still not sure whether it is him"

Then the bank staff member said " No he is the son. Let me contact his father, I have his number". and he phoned some one.

Then he told me your farther want to speak to you.The man with pistol said I can speak only ones with him.

Then I took the receiver from Bank staff member, and listen to the voice. Then I heard it is the voice from police. They say that they understand we faced a serious situation, and asked me what they should to do for us at this situation.

I said aloud "Dad, How many times I requested you to bring me a clickable bird. You haven't brought it to me yet.There's a nice gentleman here,at Al saad bank I met. He said he will by me a clickable bird. I will go with him.Otherwise you should send me a clickable bird here." and then I handed over the phone to bank staff member. He took the phone and said your farther will send a clickable bird here. But has to wait few minutes.

Then after some time a girl wearing fashionable clothe dressed in European style entered to the bank. She went to the counter and withdraw some money. and looked at me " Asked me are you Leelananda Jayasuriya. I said yes. She said " come with me, I have to give you some money."

Then the man with Qatar National dress dress said. " No he has to come with me. Give that money to me. I have a pistol.'

She said " I also have a pistol." Now both of them are about to shoot each other.

Now I smiled and said. It is a very nice situation we all have to see. Two people with pistols, one will win. I 'll suggest you an alternative. You both shoot at me when I count up to three and the one who can do early will win.

The both agreed. and let us go to the lobby area. We went bit further from the counter. I told the man wearing national dress "It is sure a woman cannot succeed. Shall I kiss her good bye before we begin." He said OK. When I kiss her her side of cheek near her ear. I whispered her when I start counting from "1" you shoot at him.

Now both are same distant apart from me and I start to count from 1...2...3...No body shooting at me I said "Shoot Now" signaling with both hands.

Then she shouted at him " Can you shoot him. Shoot now."

He said "No." and slowly felt down.

This girl (bird) had already shoot (Clicked) at him when I count "1". She was a police woman sent as the clickable bird.

After when I left State of Qatar I sent an email to Al Saad Bank mentioning this incident and asked them whether this incident took place the same way. They forwarded it to police and I received an e-mail stating it is true. Not only this incident there are many incidents of this nature took place around me, and I have to remember them.
